Surrey Harmony is thrilled that our MD Lorraine Turner has been awarded the status of Master Director by Sweet Adelines International, in recognition of our score at the recent Region 31 Convention held at The Sage, Gateshead.
Musical Directors of Sweet Adelines Choruses are permitted to be called Master Director when their Chorus scores over 600 points in competition. Our overall sixth place with 607 points means Lolly can now be known as a Master Director. We could not be more proud that she has achieved this in such a short period of time as Director.
Surrey Harmony also took the silver medal in the AA Category, for choruses with between 30 and 60 members.
Once again Region 31, incorporating the UK and The Netherlands, proved it is one of the most hotly contested regions in the world with the top six choruses scoring over 600 points.
Our talented Quartet, Oops!, made up of Sarah, Vanja, Kate and Louise also did a fabulous job on stage and we were very proud to cheer them on.
We congratulate the Champions, Lace City Chorus and our friends in Life’s a Pitch quartet who will be representing the Region in Las Vegas in October, joining Forth Valley Chorus and Finesse. We wish them all every success.
