It’s good to be back!

Director Lorraine and our 'newbies'Surrey Harmony was thrilled to be back singing on the contest stage on the weekend of May 8-10th. Thank you to all our fellow competitors who said it was good to see us performing once again. And what a great weekend we had.

We are so happy it was such a successful contest debut for our Director, Lorraine Turner. In the words of Showmanship Judge Peggy Gram, “What a doll – and she can dance too! Wow!”

We are delighted with our 7th place overall, in what is one of the most hotly contested competitions in the whole of the Sweet Adelines International organisation.   The icing on the cake was a medal – for 2nd place in the mid-size category (for choruses having 30-60 members).

We had a total of 55 members on stage, including four first timers.

Lorraine says, “This was our chance to show the Region what we have been doing over the past 18 months and to set a benchmark for our future growth. I was so proud to lead Surrey Harmony back out onto the contest stage, and I am very excited for our future together”.
