Like thousands of Sweet Adelines all over the world, Surrey Harmony members are in contest mode. It’s that time of year, when it’s all about the seven minutes we get on stage to show the results of all our hard work. And for Surrey Harmony the 2015 contest season is all about new beginnings.
The Region 31 contest will be held in Nottingham on the weekend of May 8-10th.
The Chorus will be contestant number 10 out of a total of 24 from all over the U.K. and the Netherlands. For our Director Lorraine Turner, it will be the first time she has led the Chorus onto the contest stage.
“We are very excited to be joining our Region 31 sisters at competition again”, says Lorraine. “We see 2015 as a new chapter in our chorus history, and we aim to set a benchmark from which to develop in the years to come. We took the decision to focus on a number of shows in 2014, but now we are looking forward to diving back into the contest pool”.
The Region 31 competition is one of the most highly contested in the world of Sweet Adelines. For Surrey Harmony members old and new, it’s all about the hard work and preparation for our seven minutes under the spotlight.

Oops!, one of Surrey Harmony’s quartets will be competing in the quartet competition in Nottingham. We wish Louise, Sarah, Kate and Vanja the very best for their performance. You can follow Oops! on their Facebook page.
Surrey Harmony invites Friends and Family to join us at our contest dress rehearsal on Sunday April 19th at 4pm at our regular rehearsal venue, Coulsdon Methodist Church Hall. Come along and wish us well in Nottingham!
