It’s a diverse life in Surrey Harmony. One singing
engagement can find you in the sumptuous surroundings of a
Royal Palace, the next you are scrabbling into the back of a
30 foot container!

It was a glorious summer day in July when we visited
Storrington in West Sussex to take part in their Village
Day. To the accompaniment of a generator belching out fumes
behind us, we performed our most popular numbers from the
back of a 30 foot container, with our quartet
Zig-Zag trying to
overcome a dodgy microphone in their attempts to be heard.
Choreography
movements were small and limited to say the least,
mostly because members of the front row were scared of
falling off the front. It may look from the photograph that
we were singing to empty chairs but in fact the audience was
further back behind a roped-off area.
Maybe they had been warned of the dangers posed by Sweet
Adelines falling from a great height!
Thanks to the residents of Storrington
for their warm welcome.
