We asked the question “Want to Sing”? You said “Yes We Do”! So many women in the Surrey area want to sing that we could have taken twice as many people on our new free 7-week course.
Unfortunately we just couldn’t accommodate you all at our rehearsal venue. But those who did get a place joined us for the first time on Wednesday
19th September. We had nearly 50 women of all ages come along – all with one aim – to sing!

Assistant Director Valerie Taylor talked to them about the importance of good posture and breathing before we carried a very unscientific method of allocating parts.
Then it was time to join Surrey Harmony for some singing with our Director Jenny Lawson. How fantastic it was to see so many people on the risers!

Over the next few weeks members of Surrey Harmony together with everyone on our course will be learning two new songs “Somewhere” from West Side Story and the Cole Porter classic “Anything Goes”. The aim is to perform them in public on Wednesday
31st October on the last night of the course.
Already Surrey Harmony has got more women enjoying our great hobby and fulfilling their ambitions of learning to sing.
